704 Open Streets — October 23rd, 2016

Open Street Events bring together community groups and local businesses to temporarily close streets to car traffic and open them up for people to walk, bike, and engage in Family Friendly activities. These events are more than a street festival, they give residents an opportunity to explore their neighborhood and local businesses in a safe, fun, and family-friendly way.

Location: The roads connecting Biddleville, Smallwood, Seversville, Wesley Heights, 4th Ward, 3rd Ward Wilmore, and South End.
Date: Sunday October 23, 2016
Volunteer shifts: 11am – 5:30pm

Volunteer Opportunities

  1. Intersection Superhero! These volunteers will be in charge of welcoming participants to the event, answering questions, offering directions and keeping an eye on adjacent driveways and parking deck entrances.
  2. We need Volunteers to assist with surveys and attendance counts, these Volunteers will be placed along the route. We need Volunteers who are friendly and engaging and love talking to people.
  3. Information Stations: We’ll need one volunteer to work at each of the tents located in our 4 activity zones. Duties at the tent will include helping with B-cycle rentals, bike valet service and passing out information.
  4. Zone Captains: We will have 4 zones; Family, Wellness, Green, and Art/Science. We need two Volunteers in each zone to help set up and take down activities, give out water, answer questions and to roam the route in their zone. We want Volunteers who are uplifting and friendly. We’re asking these Volunteers to help engage people in the activities.

All Volunteers will need to be on site 11am – 5:30pm
